Walking Dead Creator Sues AMA - In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, The Walking Dead’s creator Frank Darabont claimed that he was snubbed out of millions of dollars and that he was unfairly fired from the series. He is suing AMC claiming that they used “outrageous and improper formulas” to make the show look like it was a financial black hole when it was really hugely successful. Darabont says that he is supposed to be paid based on the show’s profits but isn’t being compensated because AMC claims the show is $49 million in debt. The suit claims “The sole goal of this sham transaction is to enhance the profits of the parent company by minimizing the revenues that go into the pool of funds for the show's profit participants… AMC has taken this abusive practice to new heights with plaintiff Frank Darabont…Darabont is being deprived of tens of millions of dollars of profits despite delivering AMC the most popular show on all of television and the most popular show in the history of cable.”
